Fresh off of her UFC Women’s Featherweight Title victory over Tonya Evinger, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino calls for date with Becky Lynch at WWE Summerslam.
Soon after dropping former Invicta FC fighter Evinger in the third round to claim the vacant UFC Women’s Featherweight Title at UFC 214, Cyborg stoked the flames further in her recent twitter back and forth with WWE’s Becky Lynch. By tweeting direct to WWE CEO himself, Triple H. Calling for a match with the Irish Lass Kicker at WWE Summerslam on August 20th. The match has been expected for while, as we previously reported earlier this month.

As it stands, Becky Lynch doesn’t have an opponent set for SummerSlam. One of the major Pay-Per-View events on the WWE calendar. Furthermore, has previously tweeted that she would welcome Cyborg’s proposal back in July;
I've never backed down from a challenge. Come at me bro. https://t.co/vbi7miqnRC

This of course isn’t the first time an MMA fighter has called out a WWE Superstar, or even crossed promotions. Last year CM Punk made his eagerly awaited, albeit, unsuccessful debut in the Octagon. While Brock Lesnar has fought during a number of stints and even become a UFC Champion. In fact, on the same night, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones called out the Beast Incarnate after successfully beating Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. On the other side of the coin, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and arguably the UFC’s biggest star of the last few years, Ronda Rousey, has appeared on WWE television on a couple of occasions.
Most recently, during the WWE Special Mae Young Classic, Rousey, along with current MMA athletes, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir backed up Shayna Baszler (another former MMA fighter) in taunting three of WWE’s four horsewomen, including Becky Lynch, from ringside. As well as this, who can forget Rousey’s in ring appearance with The Rock at Wrestlemania 31, removing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon from the ring?
Cyborg vs. Lynch Is A Big Money Match
With Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor soon to fight in a cross promotion boxing match to set up what could potentially be the highest grossing sporting event of all time on August 26th, the WWE could have a potentially money making event of their own just six days before at Summerslam on their hands. Following Cyborg’s willingness to make this happen. Rousey and Lesnar have crossed promotions on a number of occasions. So there is clearly a healthy business relationship between the UFC and the WWE. However, Justino also mentioned that she would love to face Holly Holm insde the Octagon following her victory last night. Summerslam is just a mere 21 days away. And any deal between Justino, UFC and the WWE will need to be worked out very quickly for this fantasy match with Becky Lynch to happen.
